  so hello everyone... i'm a brand new member and happy to be here... to know i am not alone.

  i have been a jw since birth however i was never "encouraged"/forced to get baptised by my parents (lucky me!

  ) i always considered myself a member on the fringes of my congeregation and almost everybody treated me as a member even though i never commented or went in service.

  U seem to have a very strong spirit about yourself. Enjoy your freedom!!! I also grew up in the "truth" and was never pressured to be baptized. Now that I am a follower of Christ and one who has questioned the WTS and their twisted teachings, my family and so called friends also treat me differently/semi-shunned. That's something that they will have to fight with within themselves. At least U spoke up about having questions...that seed in itself might go a long way.

  I am a "born again" Christian. Christ is my savior and I follow him to the glory of the Father. I attend an Interdenominational Church but I also enjoy the worship services of a local Full Gospel Baptist Church. I have also worshiped with Pentacostles. As long as it's covered by the Blood. I ain't here to judge you...tha't not my job...being on the "God Sqaud". It's not about the building you visit every Sunday, it's more about your daily walk with Christ...realationship vs. religion.

  What Was Your Social Life Like As A Witness?

  my (ex)wife and i asssociated with a few other couples and was considered "popular".

  Growing up in the "Truth" I was always more popular with the "worldly" folks. Going to the meetings and socail gatherings were just going through the motions. Never tried to make real JW friends...I wonder why Never even thought about a JW female as a potentail girlfriend. I guess I was just doomed from the start as a JW????

  How do you measure success compared to before?

  as a jw, success meant pioneering, commenting at the hall and book study, and going up the jw ladder.. how about now, how do you mesure success and happiness?.

  Success now is being a better father, a better husband, a better friend and even a more loving enemy. Success is following your heart and doing your little part in making society better...being able to deal with people with different views than your own with love. Being free in itself is success. Being able to THINK BIG, DREAM and to have peace of mind is SUCCESS!

  Went to visit the EX

  i have been dfd and divorced from the ex for six years now.

  i have remarried and been living in a idyllic cabin by a year round creek all this time but i might have to move.

  so i have been going through all my stuff and discarding what i can to lighten my moving load and reviewing every item, every picture, every little piece of paper.

  That was such a touching story...I could see the whole thing. Once in the WTS there's a price to be paid for freedom. Just reading your story makes me so ANGRY with the society and at the same time SO SAD for it's members. Thanks 4 sharing

  the tribulation is really starting to speed up it's pace.

  i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.

  global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.

  What is your biggest problem with the JW religion?

  if i had to be tied down i would say disfellowshipping.

  totally unnecessary and i really think it spans itself into a lot of other wt policies/mindsets.

  Did The Watchtower Society’s View Of Sex Make Sense?

  there can be an argument about the watchtowers proposal for the use of chaperons.

  however, admittedly it seems impractical and resisted in modern western civilization.

  They actually harped on sex so much that it made me more interested in it. Most teen kids are busy with sports or keeping up good grades. I remember as a unbabtized JW teen having a bible study with this baptized teen brother a few years older than me and the subject of masterbation was one of the topics. How uncomfortable can that be!!! Two young males sitting having a discussion on masterbation. The idea of abstaining is a good one but most parents give you something to work for like continueing your education and growing as a person before you open yourself up to all that is involved with sex. The WT gave me nothing to look forward to so sex became my escape

  Nightmare or Subconscience???

  i want to share with you a crazy dream that i had a few years ago.

  raised in the "truth" but not attending meetings regularly i had "end time nightmares" often.

  but this specific one stands out in my mind as i remember it so vivid and clearly.

  i recently wrote a letter to every family member i could find an address to which exposed the wt org as the group of fools they actually are!

  interesting thing is that not one letter was sent to my home congregation by anyone and the letter circulated to almost every family member i have; so instead of turning me in as i suspected they would do, they are talking about it openly and distributing it to all family members-even ones i couldn't find an address to.

  i'm winning this war!

  Stay strong....4 your family!!! If you have them atleast talking and THINKING that's a start. I don't think it will be easy or a short proccess so pace yourself, keep showing love and hopefully you'll get some help from the WTS with all the SUBMIT TO US BLINDLY BS they have been printing. It's all a big game and a matter of time!!! Stay Strong
